FARRUCO CLXXIII *22/03/2020 is a handsome, 6-year-old PRE stallion with pure Pallares bloodlines, standing at 1.63 m (approximately 16 hh). He is an approved breeding stallion but has never covered a mare. He is exceptionally easy to handle, sociable and uncomplicated in everyday life. Farruco is extremely people-oriented, affectionate and bonding easily. He stands perfectly for grooming, hoof care and farrier visits and shows no typical stallion behaviour. A genuinely kind and gentle horse who is a pleasure to have around.
Under saddle, Farruco is willing, cooperative and always tries his best to understand and perform the tasks asked of him. He enjoys working with his rider. In the past, he was used for traditional cattle work, which has given him amazing practical experience. He is also familiar with hacking out and behaves well on trail rides, including in the company of other horses.
In January 2025, Farruco underwent a radiographic examination which revealed signs of bone spavin (osteoarthritis of the hock). The X-rays are available and can be forwarded to a prospective buyer’s veterinarian upon request. Importantly, Farruco has never shown any lameness, even during periods of more demanding physical work, including his previous cattle work.
His pedigree is particularly interesting for lovers of traditional Spanish breeding. Both his sire and dam descend from Pendulo IV, making Farruco an attractive prospect for breeders who appreciate the historic Pallares bloodlines.
The renowned Benítez Cubero breeding programme, with its Pallares origins dating back to around 1930, is highly regarded for producing strong, reliable and willing horses with excellent working ability, sound temperaments and a natural aptitude for dressage.
Farruco combines traditional PRE quality, a wonderful temperament, valuable bloodlines and practical riding experience. Despite his radiographic findings, he remains a willing and enjoyable riding partner.
An excellent opportunity to acquire a truly special PRE stallion with an exceptional character and prestigious heritage at a very fair price.
