VENECIANO LA REINA *12/05/2016 is a remarkably beautiful, tall and impressive approved PRE gelding in the rare Cremello (Perlina) colour, very friendly and easy going. He combines an outstanding temperament with extensive training as both a riding and carriage-driving horse. Veneciano is mainly used for leisure riding, including beach rides, river crossings and hacking out alone or in groups. Over the years, he has been brought forward and developed a solid repertoire including lateral movements, piaffe, Spanish Walk, flying changes and rein-back. He is also a pleasure to ride in a side saddle.
His professional carriage-driving education is particularly impressive. Veneciano is trained to a high level and can be driven single, in pairs and in four-horse teams, both side by side and in tandem arrangements. He adapts easily to different positions within the team, including working as a leader in a Pericón formation. In the videos, he can be seen working on the left and in the leading position.
The collection of videos, recorded between 2022 and October 2026, demonstrates his remarkable versatility. We have known Veneciano since he was a colt and are therefore also able to share a short video of him from November 2017, filmed at our neighbour’s property. Veneciano is equally enjoyable to ride in the arena and outside, whether on countryside excursions, at traditional Spanish Ferias and Romerías, or even to the El Rocío pilgrimage. For special occasions, he can also be ridden in a side saddle. A short show video features Veneciano ridden by his owner’s 13-year-old niece, who was riding him for only the third time. This proofs again his calm, trustworthy nature. He is exceptionally kind, well-mannered and easy to handle in everyday situations.
His sire, Celoso de GH, is a Perlino PRE from the Los Bayos colour-breeding lines. His dam, Niagara La Reina, combines predominantly dark-coloured ancestors with dun bloodlines from the Paco Martí stud. Other important bloodlines include Paco Lazo and the historic Yeguada Militar.
Veneciano is a genuine rarity: a beautiful PRE gelding in an unusual colour, with excellent training, extensive experience and an exceptionally reliable character. An ideal partner for anyone who appreciates versatile leisure riding, classical horsemanship and carriage driving.
